Wow, what a beautiful town! Located just about 8 km outside of Bucaramanga, the buildings in Girón are all white with red-tiled roofs, giving a very uniform and enchanting look to this colonial town. As in other areas of Colombia that I've visited so far, the people have been extraordinarily warm and welcoming. As I was walking along a sidewalk, a family who had been walking just in front of me stopped to chat and they were very curious about why we (my colleague and I) were in their small town. They were so excited to meet us that it resulted in a group picture.

Thank you, Girón, for a wonderful day spent wandering your streets, sampling your food, and chatting with your residents.
